The Subconscious Take Over

The Subconscious Take Over

Now that we have a better understanding about why it's often difficult to build a new habit, stay consistent with a new idea, or even get started with our self-care routines - let's talk about how we can use this information to hack our subconscious intentionally.

PROGRAMMING:

To review, the difficultly with change comes because we've been programmed. It's hard to believe that something other than you - is controlling you. Because you see yourself choosing your clothes, your food, your home, your career etc. But many of those choices aren't completely made by you intentionally.

Choices are often made without awareness of why, in fear, in desperation, plainly put - trying to figure out how to survive this gift of life we've been given. When we get to the point where we have DECIDED we are bored of our current pattern and would like to experience more out of life we have to make some changes on purpose.

The great thing about the subconscious is that it is completely re-programmable. The subconscious is similar to a computer. The framework of all computers are the same every computer has a keyboard, some sort of a mouse a screen etc. The stuff that is inside determines wether we call a computer a mac, or a dell. This concept is the same for us as well.

REPROGRAMMING:

There are a few subconscious hacks  available - like going to sleep listening to an empowering message playing low in the background. This will help these ideas to seep into your dreams. Scientifically it's proven even though you are asleep - your mind is still working and thinking and exploring.

So listening to an empowering message will help you by pass all the doubt your mind comes up with and send your nervous system into auto pilot in alignment with the thoughts and ideas in the empowering message.

While I don't want to get to deep into the how and the why that works. Let's just say it is attributed to something called the RAS - the Reticular Activating System.

REFLECTION:

Let's do an experiment. You can do the experiment during one of those moments when the mind is rebelling about a change, you can put it on while going to sleep - or you can try it right now. No time like the present right?

Go check out an empowering message on youtube that resonates with you. Or listen to this short clip I put together. And check in with yourself after to see how you feel. Identify which thoughts show up for you after you listen. Where does your mind go?

Next Up:

We'll talk about - accountability through reflection. How seeing our patterns is the first step and what we can do to use that information to move past the current theme into real change.
